A New York-based startup will soon unveil an open air, portable event studio setup that it claims will couple “the fun of a photobooth with the quality of a professional studio”. Detailed information isn't available yet, but the mobile studio looks to be based around a Nikon D800 digital SLR, plus a variety of other hardware and software, including both a printer and projector. After each guest has a set of photos taken, they're given a chance to choose their favorites, which are then projected for all to see, while two copies of each photo are printed. One copy goes to the guest, and at the event's end, the second copies of each picture are collected in a single photo guestbook, recapping the event.

One for the Books

It's not yet clear if One for the Book‘s setup is entirely off-the-shelf, or includes any custom hardware or software, but it does appear to collapse into boxes for easy transport, as shown in an Instagram picture from its creator (right) Joseph Augstein. More details will apparently be forthcoming when One for the Book launches its creation at WeWork Lounge Soho on June 1st.

We are interested to see exactly what their offering will be.

If you'd like to attend the unveiling, which runs from 8:30pm to 11:30pm and is free of charge, you can register at Eventbrite.
